The old site was dated and the checkout barely worked. The new build is mobile-first, fast, and gives the equipment the presentation it actually deserves.
The problem
Rice Equipment had been online for years, but the site was hurting them more than helping. It was text-heavy, hard to navigate, and the checkout was unreliable enough that customers couldn't actually buy through it. For a niche parts business where buyers are already typing very specific things into Google to find you, that was a real problem.
What I rebuilt
- Full Shopify migration. Inventory, products, photography, and checkout all moved over and cleaned up.
- Mobile-first hero and product pages. Most equipment shopping in this category happens on a phone in a shop, so the new build is fast and readable on small screens.
- Working checkout. A real, modern Shopify checkout with shipping, inventory, and order confirmations that actually fire.
- Clean URLs, meta tags, and on-page SEO. Each product page is structured so Google can read it cleanly when someone searches for a specific part.
- Inventory system that's sustainable. A Google Sheet ↔ Shopify pipeline so updates stay simple for the owner.
